Hydro SMP is a long term vanilla survival world that feels like a chill home. The server is always updated to the latest version and they only use performance mods and moderator tools so the gameplay stays vanilla.
The community is really big with over a thousand people in the Discord and a lot of them have been there for years. Players vote on server decisions so it is very community driven and everyone gets a say.
The server has a very strict no griefing rule. Staff can roll back and inspect player actions and they do not tolerate griefing or cheating at all. It is meant to be a safe place to build and play without losing your stuff.
Even though it is vanilla they use a custom resource pack to add things like custom hats signs and banners. These are only cosmetic so they do not change the game balance. They also use some small tweaks like Dragon drops elytra and extra slab and stair options.
The server runs on strong hardware in Germany with a Ryzen 9 CPU and a lot of RAM so it stays smooth and close to 20 TPS. They watch performance very closely so survival feels lag free.
