There is a whitelist to help keep griefers out and the server aims for a chill low drama vibe with a 17 plus player base. It runs on a dedicated self hosted machine so it is not the usual shared host lag.
They are shaping the center spawn and want people to join early and build near it. Towns can form naturally and shops and player economy can matter. Politics and rivalries can happen without things getting toxic.

Konohaven SMP is a Java semi vanilla server and Season 5 just started. The big change is that players get way more control this time. Stuff like spawn plans shopping areas and big travel routes are meant to be decided by the community. If you care about how things run you can start a group or work solo and actually shape the world.
The server is on Hard difficulty and it has single player sleep. There is also a live map so you can see what is going on.
For world stuff there is no set world border. Chunks generate out to 1500 at the start to help with early lag then you can explore as much as you want. The seed will be public. World generation is being tweaked to add new features but it is still aimed at keeping the vanilla feel.
Blaze and Caves Advancements are on with reduced chat spam. Simple Voice Chat is optional and you do not need mods to join. There is also an optional Origins datapack and they are still adjusting the values before players pick.

Crystal SMP is a small survival server that started last week and it is trying to pull in more players who are 17+. It is meant to be social and easy to jump into for new or returning players.
It runs on Neo Forge 1.21.1 with custom world generation plus a few quality of life tweaks and light cosmetics. People asked for better storage so sophisticated storage is in. Loot is handled with Looter so loot feels client side instead of being only vaults. Chipped is also used so builders get way more block options.
The vibe is kind of anarchy but not full chaos. You cannot destroy important progression blocks like trial vaults and end portals. You also cannot raid people while they are offline. If there is going to be combat or a raid it has to be announced to the person first. Players also expect you to not break lootr chests.
There are around 10 or more active players daily and people are still building nations and decorating spawn and making lore. Moderation is fast and the server RAM was upgraded from 6GB to 8GB.
