I found a modded SMP that is growing fast and it feels like a fantasy world with real story behind it. The main vibe is dragons and monsters and the land is full of them.
It uses Ice and Fire so you can hunt dragons fight them and even tame one for yourself. People can pick a life like ruling a kingdom being a warrior or running a tavern.
There are multiple nations right next to each other and they want more builders fighters redstoners and basically any helpful player. There are also custom structures and dungeons to explore.
The world border is kept kinda small so everyone stays close together and it will expand over time. Players are pushed to make settlements and houses with other players.
PVP is allowed but random killing is not the point and it can get you punished. PVP is more for planned wars and server drama that makes sense. The server is whitelisted so you have to apply to join.

I found a PvP SMP called MaceSteal and it is on Minecraft Java 1.21.11. It mixes Lifesteal with mace fighting so every jump can turn into a huge hit and every heart matters.
If you kill someone you gain a heart and if you die you lose one. If you lose all your hearts you get eliminated. People can make teams but it sounds like trusting the wrong person can end you fast.
It is vanilla plus and it is not trying to add a bunch of new world stuff. The worldborder is 2000 by 2000 so you will run into players a lot. There are also about 26 custom maces and you can hunt for ominous keys and try your luck with reusable vaults to get a better chance at the heavy core.
It is a Fabric server hosted in the EU and it is PvP centered. It is usually online 24/7 but sometimes it can go down because of wifi. The server is planned to start next Saturday.

Fusion SMP is a private survival multiplayer server on Java 1.21.11 that is trying to be different from the usual SMP that dies fast. It mixes a bunch of SMP systems into one world so players can end up with really different playstyles.
The world border is 5000 by 5000 and the server has around 40 members and it is still growing. It is long term survival with PvP plus alliances wars and lots of exploring.
It has altar mechanics glitch abilities and strength mechanics with extra quality of life plugins. There are also legendary weapons with special abilities and unique player powers with balanced survival and PvP.
The server uses Simple Voice Chat for proximity voice. You need the mod and there are two resource packs with one that downloads when you join and one you grab from the Discord.
Since it is private you have to get approved before joining. The goal is a friendly mature community without griefers or trolls for people who like building and progressing over time.

I found this Minecraft server called Mending Party and it lets Java and Bedrock players play together.
