PurpleSMP is a simple survival server that keeps stuff clean and out of your way. It is mostly PVE so you can build and chill without random fights.
The biggest extra thing here is mcMMO so grinding feels more rewarding. The economy is player made with no server shops and no currency so trading is up to the community.
You can claim land to protect your builds and you get PlayerVaults for extra storage. PVP is off by default but you can toggle it on if you want.
The server logs block changes and staff can check inventory backups from joins leaves and deaths. There is anti cheat and staff get alerts through Discord. There is no world border and there is still lots of land to explore. It started as friends only in October 2025 and opened to the public in December 2025.

Outatime Gamers is a Java survival server made for players who are 30 and up. It is for millennial xennial and gen x people who want a space that is not full of kids. The vibe is casual and friendly and people like to chat about life too.
The server is vanilla plus with quality of life mods. I saw stuff like Animal Pens Comforts Gravestones and Storage Drawers. It recently upgraded to 1.21.11.
People build together share resources and keep it chill. You can play a lot or barely log in and nobody will get mad. There are no pressure vibes and it is whitelist based.

The Garden is a Java 1.21.11 survival multiplayer server that leans hard into worldbuilding adventure and roleplay. It has a bunch of plugins that add flavor but it still feels like survival.
The main thing is the life system. You start with 3 lives and you only lose lives through PvP. If you lose them all you turn into a ghost and only you will really know what happens after that.
Some vanilla stuff is turned off to fit the roleplay better. Elytra and ender chests are disabled so people actually build roads and towns and real infrastructure.
Players can lock chests using trial keys and you can craft lockpicks to break in. You can also make chest shops and brew alcohol and beers. There are lots of quality of life features too.
When you join you wake up above the clouds then you stick the landing to start. You can descend the Monolith then pick a race like Human Halfling Orc Elf and more. After that you wake up on the docks of Isla De Viva Eterna and sail out to find new land or settle with others. The server is meant to be relaxed with optional challenges and it says there is no pay to win with active staff and mods.

I found a modded SMP called Mech Rehabilitated and it feels like a small friendly place that stays active. It is the kind of server you can hop on after work or classes and just relax or go totally wild.
The modpack has over 300 mods so there is a lot to do. People can explore and loot huge structures then go fight bosses and chase big power. If you are more of a farmer type there are lots of recipes and cooking stuff too.
Some of the mods mentioned are Create Alexs Mobs and Caves Terramity Farmers Delight with lots of addons Cataclysm Etched and Littlepictureframes for community movie nights.
The server just came back with a brand new version of the modpack and a clean slate. You have to fill out a short form to get reviewed and whitelisted before you can join.

Pixel Springs is a cozy modded SMP on 1.20.1 that is meant to be long term and it does not reset. It feels like a chill place for builders collectors and people who like relaxed survival.
The modpack has a lot of building and decoration options. It also has farming and cooking content plus a custom FTB Quests system so you can chase goals and get rewards while you learn mods.
There is in game currency you can earn from quests and daily rewards. People can start shops and build in the shopping district. There is also a resource overworld dimension that resets sometimes so normal resources do not feel limited.
The community is small friendly and welcoming and it is still early since it started a few months ago. The admin team helps out and they do frequent backups. You can also find a team using their discord features.
