Campbell SMP is a semi vanilla survival server that has been running for almost a year and is now in season two. The first season lasted about six months and that is where most of the core members came from. The current season started in late December and there are around 30 players active.
The server runs on hard difficulty and uses version 1.21.11. There are upgraded structures like better trial chambers desert and jungle temples woodland mansions ancient cities and ocean monuments. The nether and end have new biomes and both the wither and ender dragon are harder so boss fights feel more intense.
There is a progression based skills system so you have to level up your skills to use stronger armor tools and weapons. This makes the server feel more grindy so you do not get overpowered too fast. The skills are not meant to be annoying because there are ways to AFK level them and build farms to speed things up.
The server also has things like Bluemap FishingExpansion armored elytra and special advancements for blazes. There are regular events with prizes that are actually worth trying for. The community feels like a stable group that has been playing together for a while and they are about to fight the dragon so it is still a pretty fresh world for new players.
