I found a custom Minecraft SMP that is built for a long term survival world and it is not pay to win. The whole point is to have stuff to grind for and keep you playing.
It has custom items you can earn in game like tools and weapons seasonal items utility items and rare collectibles. The crates are part of it too and the keys are earned by getting advancements so it is not locked behind money.
There is an economy with a player auction house and the staff runs frequent events like jail events competitions and bigger admin events where you can win rare rewards. The server is also tuned for performance and has an active staff team.
