    4. What should I do if I encounter maintenance issues or can’t join the server?

    If you encounter any maintenance issues or have trouble joining the server, report it on the Discord server. The server owner will respond within 3-4 hours and address the problems promptly.

    5. Is the server always online?

    Due to the server being located in Indonesia, it may not be running 24/7. Check the Discord server for updates on when the server will be online or offline.

    The server will be only java compatible at the start, but bedrock support will be added in the future. This has been put into place to prevent lag during the main release.

    Where is the server hosted? Will I lag out?

    Our server is hosted in Montreal, Canada. It runs on 12gb of RAM and a Ryzen 9 5900x processor, you could say we have a pretty beefy server. We chose Montreal as our server location because it’s kind of at the center of everything. Everybody in The Americas will get a great ping, people from western, central, and potentially northern Europe will get a decent ping because they are just a short ocean away. People from Asia, Africa, or Australia might experience moderate lag but this is just due to our server location. 99% of our player base should be lag-free!

    Overview
    Lords Of Soot is a 1.16.5 Survival Server primarily focusing on light geopolitical roleplay; and using that as a framework for large-scale, cooperative projects, including sprawling seaports, realistic airports, and a server-spanning railway network. Beyond this; LoS features several player-ran nations; each with distinct governing and building styles, with more able to be created. All this plays out on a large-scale Terraforged map, featuring stunning rivers, mountains and vistas. LOS’s modpack is large, but well-optimized – the minimum RAM to consistently run the pack is 6gb, the minimum to load it is 4gb.

    Lords Of Soot’s modpack primarily consists of Immersive Engineering and Create. Further developing industry is a customized version of Mekanism. For transportation, we have Immersive Railroading with several packs and Immersive Vehicles – and in case wars must be fought, you can use Timeless and Classic guns to fight them! If you desire a quieter life, we have several cooking, agriculture, and decorative mods, too!
