I found a newer server that is built around a custom tech and magic modpack and it is meant to last a long time. The main vibe is role play and RPG style survival with a big community focus.
Players get a lot of choice in how they play because of the origins setup. You pick things like a race and class and magic alignment and a background plus a second class. There are tons of options so it is easy to make a unique build and grow stronger over time with the skill system.
The tech side is based around create so people can build factories and trains and make big projects. There are also options for players who do not want to be magic users so you can still fit into the world.
Exploring sounds like a huge part of it with lots of dungeons and structures and scary creatures across the realm. You can claim land and build kingdoms and factions and guilds using the claim and colony tools. It is a keep inventory server and it is less than two weeks old.

I found a One Piece themed Minecraft RPG server that is doing a closed alpha test and it is built from the ground up with modded mechanics.
This is not normal survival. You do not break blocks. You do not build. You do not use crafting tables. It is all about combat exploration and a tough Beli economy.
They have custom coded features like a working Log Pose system. You cannot just teleport or rush ahead. You have to beat island bosses to charge your Log Pose so it points to the next island.
The gameplay is a lot of boss grinding for money so you can upgrade your gear. You can go after bosses like Axe Hand Morgan Kuro and Smoker. Gear is more like rifles katanas and sniper weapons instead of diamond stuff.
There are Marine and Pirate NPCs around the world and there is also safer fishing at spawn docks where you can sell fish for side cash. The alpha covers the East Blue saga from Foosha Village to Loguetown and player data will be wiped after the test.

I found a tight knit modded Minecraft network with a bunch of nice people and some really good builders. The vibe is chill but also kind of unhinged in a funny way and they even joke about blood sacrifices.
They run multiple modpacks so you can pick what you feel like playing. There is All The Mods 9 and All The Mods 10 and an ATM10 To the Sky server too. They also have MC Eternal 2 plus Prominence 2 Hasturian Era and Society Sunlit Valley.
The server has time based ranks across the network with command rewards like fly and god. There are leaderboards and custom quests with new challenges. They also use custom plugins.
There is a resetting pregenerated farmworld for finding structures. Every dimension is fully pregenerated and they have random teleport and multiple home slots. They are still building new custom stuff and they actually want suggestions.
Rules are pretty simple like do not be a jerk and do not trash the TPS. It is hosted in Germany but the community is global and they like helping newer players learn modded stuff.

Shinobi Gaiden is a Minecraft Naruto style RPG and RP server that has been worked on for almost 2 years. It has a big staff team and a community that helped build a near scale replica of the Naruto world with a custom timeline and custom models.
The server has a custom map plus combat and questing systems. You can find weapons and equipment and fight enemies while you follow the story. Recruiting is also part of the experience.
They are also setting up mini games and an SMP. The post also says they are looking for hosters lore builders and moderators. The title shows it is on 1.21.4.

I found a modded Minecraft server running on 1.20.1 that is built for stable play and smooth progression. It is hosted on dedicated hardware in Europe and it also uses an extra proxy tunnel through Germany. That helps international players get better ping even if they are far away.
The server is RP enhanced and it adds Lootr and Voice Chat. Teleports are restricted so you are pushed to travel with the modpack options like spells waystones and elytras. New players get starting items that include free waystones and there are free bandage kits every 12 hours.
It has fantasy races and classes with RPG leveling plus fantasy world generation and biomes. You can also run into Orcs and Goblins and Dragons. Minecolonies is here too with the Byzantine Styles Pack and there are Immersive Quests.
The server started on February 15 and it is not pay2win. It stays up as long as there is at least one active player and the modpack rotates after things go inactive.

Velmora is a dark fantasy SMP that feels like survival with rules and direction. It is built around progression kingdoms and player made lore so it does not turn into random chaos.
Players pick a power path through academies. There is a magic path a hero path and a demon path. Each one changes your progression and abilities and how people see you in the world.
The world has three continents with different vibes and there are 11 kingdoms total. You can join a kingdom lead one or betray one if you want.
If you do not want politics you can be an adventurer with guild quests dungeons bosses player bounties rare relic loot and a renown system. You can also build a village live outside kingdom borders make trade hubs and stay independent.
It supports Java and Bedrock and it has PvP custom items and relics plus player driven story arcs. The server is in active development.

Pixel Springs is a cozy modded SMP on 1.20.1 that is made for people who want a long term world that does not reset. It feels like a chill place to settle in and build for a long time.
The mod list is super builder friendly with stuff like Building Gadgets plus lots of decoration and block variety. If you like farming and cooking there are tons of food and crop mods and you can earn in game currency by completing meals through quests.

I found a public Cobblemon server hosted in Australia and it is made for Oceania players who want a simple place to play.
