ShovelCraft is a semi vanilla SMP that is all about building and long stories instead of rushing to the end.
The server world is split into two main zones. In the Green Zone you cannot do pvp or steal or grief. There are no generated structures there and it is all about building towns trading and making lore together. In the Red Zone pvp is on and stealing is allowed and normal structures can generate so it feels more dangerous but you still are not supposed to just grief everything.
The End is turned off so there are no elytras or shulker farms. People travel by land or on water or through the Nether so the world feels bigger and slower. The world is meant to last a long time with no planned resets so your builds and stories can stay.

This server is a vanilla anarchy survival world that starts you in the middle of the ocean. When you join you have to swim or use a boat and find land before you can really build or explore. It feels like an adventure right from the first minute.
The world has been around since 2011 so the terrain is super mixed. You can find really old areas and ruins and if you travel far enough you can reach newer land that was generated after 2014. Sometimes player and mob heads drop in combat so fights can give you cool trophies.
The server uses a few simple datapacks that give you commands like trigger home and trigger spawn. You can set up to 10 homes which makes moving around the giant old world a lot easier. Nothing else really changes the gameplay so it still feels like classic vanilla Minecraft.
