This is a cracked SMP called Arcane SMP that is starting season 2. The first season went good and now they want more players to join in.
It runs version 1.21.11 and the world border is 5k so the map is not too huge but still has room to explore and build. The server has 12gb of ram and is online 24 7 so you can play pretty much whenever you want.
The rules are super light and it is almost no rules so it feels more free and less strict. It looks like a chill survival multiplayer server where people just want to hang out and see what happens in the new season.

TendoMC is a modded Minecraft server that is all about a Naruto style world. It runs on Java with Forge 1.12.2 and focuses a lot on quests boss fights and lore events.
The server uses CustomNPCs to make real quest lines and custom bosses. NPCs can use abilities and jutsu style attacks and more story content is still being added. There are planned lore events where players can try to become a Jinchuriki and unlock special powers.
There are five nations you can join. Leaf Sand Stone Cloud and Mist. Each nation has its own NPC that sells unique clothing and some extra items so you can look and feel like part of your village.
You can work toward ranks like Akatsuki member or Hokage. The server will hold ninja exams pretty often depending on how the players are progressing so your rank actually comes from how you play.
The owner says the server is not pay to win. Everything that you can get with real money can also be earned in game through bosses and questlines. There are crates but they are mostly to help people who cannot play all day still keep up with others.
The person running the server has a lot of experience running other game communities and wants to bring a new style of gameplay to this modded Naruto world.

This is a vanilla survival server that is made to last for years and not just short seasons. The world is meant to be long term and people can find each others bases and build anywhere.
The gameplay is pretty simple and fair. There are no pay to win perks no kits and no land claims. The world is kept playable for both Java and Bedrock players and weird movement stuff gets blocked so no one has an unfair edge.

I found this semi anarchy SMP that is honestly just pure chaos in a good way. It has this really old map that has been around for more than six years so everywhere you go you find old bases ruins and random projects from different players.
The server is basically classic Minecraft survival with no hacks allowed. Plugins are kept small so it still feels like vanilla. They also have a high mob cap so farms work really well and you can grind mobs and resources like crazy.
You can do pretty much anything here. You can build and make big bases fight other players trade with people or just wander around and explore old history. Griefing is allowed and there is drama and bounties and all that so it really feels like a lawless sandbox.
The community is super weird but in a fun way. There are all kinds of players with funny names and personalities and a bunch of inside jokes. People hang out a lot and there is a tight knit group that plays together all the time. They also run server events with special lore items and they even have a wiki for the server.
There is only one real rule. Do not cheat. If you want a place where anything can happen and the world already has tons of history this server is actually pretty cool.

This is a really cozy building smp that is looking for new players who like a relaxed survival world. It uses server side mods that make Minecraft less boring but it still feels like normal vanilla.
The server is very lgbtq plus supportive and most of the community and staff are queer. It is also female owned and managed so they take harassment and discrimination seriously and want it to be a safe place.
The gameplay is focused on comfy survival and building. There are claims so your stuff is protected plus tpa and homes to get around easier. It has useful quality of life features with keep inventory turned on and a pvp toggle so you can choose if you want to fight. The difficulty is normal and there is 100 percent villager zombification.

SmokeyMC is a towny style SMP where people make towns and either stay peaceful or go to war. It is made for both Java players and Bedrock players so your friends can play together.
The server has ranks you earn by playtime and you can take different jobs to make money. There are player shops and an in game balance so the economy feels like it is run by the players. You also get MCMMO skills so you can level up and feel your character getting stronger over time.

This server feels like an old school vanilla world that never really stopped. The world started in 2011 so you can find really old terrain and ruins and then run into newer areas if you explore far enough. Spawn is in an ocean biome so you have to swim or use a boat just to even find land which makes the start feel like a little adventure.
The gameplay is mostly pure survival with just a few datapacks that make life easier. You can set homes with triggers and warp back to spawn and you can have up to 10 homes. There is nothing extra that changes terrain or adds crazy items. Sometimes player heads and mob heads can drop when you fight which is fun to collect.
The community is a small group of long time friends and most players are in their mid twenties or older. People are mostly from the US with some Russian and Polish speakers too. The rules are super simple. Treat people with respect and do not try to crash the server. Besides that almost anything is allowed so griefing and hacked clients are okay if you still respect others.
The server is always running the newest Minecraft snapshot so you get new features right away. It feels relaxed and unstructured and it is good if you just want to play classic survival with a world that has a lot of history already.
