Anarchy Network is a semi anarchy Minecraft server that started on October 11th 2024 and it runs in New York City. It tries to feel like pure survival Minecraft with very few changes so it is close to normal vanilla.
You can join any time since the server is online 24 7. It supports Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10 and they suggest using 1.21.10 so you do not run into weird issues.
The world border is huge at 2 million blocks so there is a ton of space to explore build hide and fight. There are no map resets no teleport commands and no pay to win at all. Griefing is allowed and PvP is also fully allowed so you always have to watch your back.
The only extra command they let you use is spawn so players far away are not stuck forever. They also allow nether roof access. Phantoms are removed so nights are a bit less annoying and only half the players need to sleep to skip the night.

You can join on a lot of Java versions and they recommend using 1.21.10 so stuff does not break. There are no map resets so everything you do will stay unless another player blows it up.
This server allows full pvp and griefing so you really have to watch your back. There is no teleporting at all and there is no pay to win shop. The only command you get that is not vanilla is spawn so people super far away can still get back to others.
They also let you use the nether roof and they removed phantoms and only half the players are needed to skip the night which makes survival a bit less annoying.

This server is called Experimental Hardcore and it is a hardcore anarchy world with weird events that keep changing how you play. The world gets random constraints and different experiments over time so the game does not stay the same.
At the start the world border was super small and every day it grows bigger. When someone went to the End a destruction timer started and after that nobody could go to the End anymore. More events like that keep happening and they can limit or unlock new stuff you can do.
The server is hardcore so if you die you are done and death is forever. But there is a way to be revived if other players help you. When you die you become a ghost stuck near your own player head. You float there in a special spectator mode and cannot go through the ground. If someone finds a special revival location and has your head and enough resources they can bring you back to life.
As the border gets bigger you can find old builds and strange structures from past players. Inside there can be loot danger and small bits of story. The way you mess with these places or items can change things for you or the whole world.
The server is anarchy but with rules against hacking and exploits. Griefing killing and stealing are allowed. Crystal pvp and anchor pvp are turned off. Java Minecraft version 1 is used.

Eden is a long term Minecraft world that never resets so everything people build really matters for a long time.
The admins stay out of normal gameplay so players handle conflict and cooperation on their own. If someone causes problems or starts a war it is all solved with in game mechanics and not by staff.
There is a reinforcement system so you can make blocks doors and chests super tough. Griefing can still happen but it takes a lot of effort and risk.
The server also uses snitches that log what players do in certain areas. This lets groups collect proof instead of just guessing who did something.
There are no easy claim menus. Land is protected by planning teamwork bastion blocks and smart building instead of magic protection.
Progression comes from the environment. Ores appear as you mine and they depend on biome and height. Crops grow slow and in different ways in each biome and people use them in factories to make xp.
Factories and farms can keep running even when no one is near their chunks.
The economy is fully player run with ItemExchange. There are no server shops. Players already run shops and nations are working together on a big trade hub.

This is a new SMP that started not long ago and it has a cool idea. You can either join the normal pvp side or you can declare yourself peaceful. Peaceful players cannot be griefed or stolen from and they are not part of the pvp scene.
The server runs in hard mode and has a world border from minus 4k to plus 4k. It uses custom terrain generation with tectonic and terralith and all the chunks are already preloaded so exploring feels smooth.
There are a bunch of quality of life tweaks. Only one player needs to sleep to skip the night. Minecarts go super fast at 90 meters per second and use the new experimental physics. You can sit on stairs. Enderman and ghast griefing is turned off and phantoms are disabled.
You can silk touch spawners and also silk touch amethyst buds. Ender pearls are disabled so movement feels different. The server uses purpur software to run everything.
