Campfire SMP is a semi vanilla survival server that is made for adults who want a long term world. It is whitelisted and 18 plus only. Most people are in their twenties and there are some older players too. The server is meant to stay up for years and not reset every month.
The world runs on Purpur 1.21.11 and has a 40k by 40k world border. It is self hosted 24 7 in Las Vegas with good hardware so it feels smooth to play. There is no tpa and no home command so travel and bases feel more like real survival.
The community already built a shopping district with a diamond based economy. There are nether highways for fast travel and a battle arena and a mini games area for people who like to hang out and play together. Players talk a lot in voice chat and also just chill and work on projects or play other games.
There are a few plugins mainly for quality of life and admin stuff like voice chat dynmap and grief protection. There are also data packs like custom armor stands mini blocks player heads and some small tweaks like anti enderman griefing and husks dropping sand. This server is all about humans vs zombies with a twist. It is not a normal survival world. You join a game and then you fight off tons of mobs and try to climb the kill leaderboard.
Right now mob kills got reset so everyone is starting fresh. If you grind your way to the top of the leaderboard you can win VIP ranks and Overkill keys. The keys are described as very good so it is worth trying if you like rewards.
You can join on Java version 1.21 and up. After you log in you click on a book to join the game. The server even tells you one of the best ways to farm. You go into a tunnel type slash sandbag place your sandbag then wait for zombies to come and start shooting them.

This is a hardcore plus survival server that feels almost like classic vanilla but with a twist. Every time you die you lose one heart and you can go all the way down to three hearts. To get your hearts back you have to craft a heart crystal using an echo shard and a diamond block. This can even push you over the normal ten hearts and up to twenty hearts but the extra hearts are temporary and get removed when you take damage.
The world has real danger because there are no teleport commands and all block damage is enabled like fire spread and creeper explosions. Stealing and griefing are not allowed though so it is not an anarchy server. You still have to respect other players builds and items.
The server started as a close knit vanilla SMP community that has been around for years and players sometimes compare it to hermitcraft. There are regular events every weekend and mayor elections every month so the world feels alive. There is also an optional cozy modded server and another hardcore server you can try if you want more.
It runs on a dedicated machine with no lag and it has vanilla gameplay with some quality of life plugins like stats leaderboards sleep tweaks heads and armor stand tools. There is an active discord and text chat connects between discord and the game. There is also optional proximity voice chat if you want to talk to people nearby in game.
