Golden Nations is a semi vanilla PvP server where everything is about nations and politics. Players create nations and lead them with diplomacy or war. You can make constitutions and treaties and every decision really matters.
The economy is completely run by players. You can still sell basic stuff like food crops and ores but everything else has to come from trade and production between players and nations. Controlling resources and trade is super important if you want power.
War on this server is very serious. When you die in an official war you get banned for 24 hours and your character gets fully reset. This makes battles really intense and leaders have to think carefully before fighting.
There is custom fishing with special loot tables so fishing can give rare materials and useful items that can change how strong a nation is.
There are no elytras and no villagers at all so travel and logistics are harder and nations have to depend on real players instead of easy trading. The map is 5000 by 5000 so nations are close together and are forced into early diplomacy conflict and teamwork.
