I found a community centered survival server that is made by the players for the players. It goes for a Hermitcraft style SMP feel and tries to keep the vanilla experience while still growing when the community wants it.
There is a diamond based economy with a shopping district. People also work on public builds and bigger projects together. Proximity chat is a big part of the server and most players use it.
They also have homes and a few cosmetic and quality of life or fun plugins. New stuff gets added from community requests and polls.
It is Java only on Minecraft 1.21.11. The server is whitelisted and it is 18 plus. They usually have 5 to 20 players on during the day and they say there are hundreds of regular active players. If you want to meet people there are groups looking for new members.
