HermitiaSMP is a small independent SMP that is all about community and people working together from all over.
The server runs weekly events so things stay fresh and new players can jump in fast. The events can be in game and also stuff like IRL challenges and art competitions.
It stays close to vanilla but adds a custom datapack and some QoL mods to make the game feel better. There is optional proximity voice chat so you can talk to players while you play.
Building is a big deal here with community builds and event houses where you can join a house and earn points. There is a player made nether hub in progress plus a shared spawn and shopping area.
For safety they use anti grief plugins like CoreProtect. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming with just enough chaos to keep it fun.
