The big thing here is the GeoPol system where you can create a nation and control land. You can also join an existing country if you do not want to start from scratch. Alliances and global politics are a huge part of how the server feels.
PvP and warfare actually matter on this server. You end up defending borders and raiding enemies when things go bad. There is also a live BlueMap so you can track territories and players in real time.
The community is 16+ and it feels more mature and focused on teamwork and meaningful gameplay. The server is whitelist and it is made for Minecraft Java players.

I found Iperios and it is a modded server where you can make your own nation. You can pick your own kind of government and make laws and ranks too.
If you do not want to start a nation you can join one that already exists. It feels like a mix of survival with people trying to run their own little countries.
It uses the All the Mods 10 modpack and it says version 6.1. You have to get whitelisted through their discord first.
When you get in a staff member will guide you and give you a beginner kit so you can start playing.

This is a realistic 1812 era server built around national strategy and big wars on land and at sea. The main goal is naval supremacy plus land sieges and planning with your nation.
It has custom weapon stuff like unique gun models and spears turned into cavalry lances. The sound is redone so muskets and cannons feel heavy. Muskets hit for 5 hearts no matter what armor you wear. You can only carry one and they reload slow and are not super accurate so nobody can spam them.
For fights there is buffed cavalry with much faster horses so riding matters. There are also Movecraft field cannons that can one shot players but they are expensive and slow to aim. On the ocean you can control sea zones for weekly income and the nation that holds a sea zone decides who can launch naval invasions through it.
Nation leaders can pick a tiered doctrine path to match their style and your nation can level up to unlock stronger buffs. For defense there are custom villagers with special trades and they can get Strength and Resistance to help during a siege.
The first live testing is planned for March. Nation applications open when the Discord hits 150 members. You can earn 1000 in game money for every 10 people you invite and top recruiters get a Founding Father title. The server is not out yet and it is projected for early June.

I found Calito Nations and it is a survival civilization server where politics actually matters. It just opened early access and they want founding players to help shape everything.
You can start a town and then pick how it is run like autocracy oligarchy constitutional monarchy republic or direct democracy. The government type changes real costs like upkeep land claims and expansion. Some styles give you more control but can drain your treasury and some are cheaper but you have to deal with votes.
Elections use ranked choice voting so it is not just whoever screams loudest. Your vote weight depends on stuff like how long you lived there how much gold you put in and if you have been active recently with a cap so one person cannot own the whole town.
Every town has a tension score and if leaders ignore problems it can spiral into petitions defections and even secession movements. Nations can siege towns on scheduled weekend battle sessions. If you win you plunder then occupy the town and take part of their daily resource production. The server runs on Java 1.21.6+ and uses Folia.
