There are weekly mayor elections. Any citizen can run a one person campaign and explain why they should be in charge. The mayor is not just for show. This server is all about Minecraft politics and it feels like a big social experiment. The world has a main spawn with a nice fountain and a Town Hall that holds the official rule book. The capital city has clear borders so land inside it feels like it actually matters and has value.
Players can build where they want. You go outside the city to farm and gather stuff so you have to bring things back and trade. That makes roads and transport and markets feel important because people need each other.
