MineRealm is a really old survival server that has been around since 2010 and a ton of players have already joined it. The world is smaller and grows over time so new land is always from the latest version. Everything is player built so you do not spawn into some giant prefab hub.
The server is semi vanilla and tries to feel like normal Minecraft but with a few smart upgrades. There is a classic plot system and grief protection so your builds stay safe. Staff use their own protection tools so people cannot just ruin your stuff.
There is no pay to win and no spawned items so the survival is fully legit. The world does not reset so your base is meant to last a long time. There is public infrastructure that players have made to help new people get started and to keep the world connected.

Lodestone is a Minecraft server that mixes geopolitics and worldbuilding in one place. It is built around custom ideas that you do not really see on other servers in this genre.
The big feature is Spice Trades. You harvest different spices and then sell them at spawn. The environment you use changes how good your spices are so some land is way better than others. This makes the economy feel different and also makes people want to fight over the best land.
The server uses Towny so players can form towns and nations. You can make alliances or go to war with other groups. It feels like a slow build up where towns grow and then big nation conflicts start.
There are chest shops so players can set up places to buy and sell items with just a chest and a sign. This helps build a player run market on top of the spice system.

The New Life SMP is a multiplayer world where you actually feel like you are playing with people and not alone. Everyone is expected to be equal and no player is treated like they are better than anyone else. It has a strong community feel and people are active and talk a lot.

This is a new crossplay SMP server that has been running for about a month and it already has a small but active community. There are around seventy members so far and usually about fifteen people on every day so it feels alive but not crowded.
The server is survival with a lot of quality of life stuff. You can claim land so your base is protected right away. There is RTP so you can teleport to random spots and find a place to build without hassle. You can rent chest shops at spawn and use a full server economy to buy and sell things.

This server is called Exodus Factions and it is a semi vanilla world where players make nations and fight wars. It feels like a group of friends from other servers all came together to make something that lasts and is actually fun.
The community is pretty new and friendly and people help each other a lot. Even though it starts peaceful there is a big focus on possible war and alliances later so you can team up or go against other nations.

Halcyon is a Lands PvP server that feels like an old school survival world. It is run by a postgraduate medievalist who really cares about the medieval theme. The server uses a handmade custom world and tries to stay very close to normal vanilla Minecraft while still being on version 1.21.10.
The gameplay is harder on purpose. Progress is slower and it is harder to use meta tricks. You are pushed to be creative and to work with other players. Big wins come from doing brave fights making smart trades and building strong cities and castles. It is more about people and teamwork than about big farms and exploits.
Travel is a huge part of the game. There is no teleporting at all and the biomes are large and different. Players build long roads waystations and secret underground railways to get around. F3 was turned off so you cannot just read your coordinates. Some people sell lodestone compasses and others make big maps or learn to navigate by the sun and the moon.
The server does not force you to follow strict lore. There is no pre built story you have to play. You just join pick a direction punch some trees and your story grows as you meet other players. This server is called Dominion SMP and it is a Hermitcraft style survival world. It is mostly vanilla and it feels like a long term place where people actually stick around and build stuff together. The world is still pretty new and they are bringing in more players for a big start event so everyone can begin around the same time.
There is a strong focus on community and teamwork. Players run a shopping district where you can trade and set up your own shops. There is proximity chat so you can talk to people when you are close to them in game and there is a web map to see the world from above.
