Ed's Classic SMP is a new relaxing survival server that is focused on PvE and a classic feel with extra stuff that keeps it fun.
The main Overworld Nether and End are made to never reset so you can claim land and build big projects without worrying. You can also use sethome so getting back is easy.
There are monthly resource worlds you can jump to with random teleport. Those worlds reset every month and they are on Hard so you have to watch out. They also have boosted mining XP and boosted hostile mob XP.
The economy is meant to feel balanced. You can buy and sell basic vanilla items in the shop and use the auction house for better items and finds. There is also private player trading.
You can level skills with mcMMO and earn playtime ranks that unlock perks abilities and cosmetics. There is also MyPets so you can grab a pet from the pet shop and have a buddy while you mine.
The server is still getting updates and new features are being added so it feels like it is growing with the community.

uSurvive is a survival multiplayer server that feels like Minecraft took a different path but still stayed close to vanilla. It tries to make the base game better without turning it into a modded mess.
I saw stuff for builders fighters and explorers. There is a custom claiming system so you can protect your builds in the overworld and not worry about griefing. It also has backpacks and quests so you always have something to do.

CaliCraft is a player run server where the community actually shapes what happens. Every two weeks everyone votes for an Emperor and this role has real power. They can change plugins make laws and even imprison people including staff. There is a Constitution they have to follow but they can also make temporary laws during their reign. Some laws can become permanent through a Discord poll.
The server has a lobby that helps you jump into different gamemodes fast. There is a modded survival world with custom enchantments skills jobs an auction house an economy custom dungeons and vote crates with strong gear. It is also a claim world and it runs like a kingdom under the Emperor.
There is also a vanilla survival option with quality of life stuff like quests chest sorting and daily rewards. You can play skyblock too with classic island style and extra addons. There is a Cobblemon mode on a separate Fabric server so you need the Cobblemon modpack to join it.

MoshPit SMP is an economy survival server that tries to be exciting instead of just feeling like a safe zone. It is built around earning your money and taking risks while still keeping things fair since it says there is no pay to win.
There are quests that give crate keys and rare loot. You can trade through a server shop and an auction house so you can buy and sell with players too. There are orders where you do specific tasks and deliveries for big rewards. Duels are also a thing so you can fight someone and risk your cash for a fast payout.

The Pen MC is a classic prison server that tries to feel like the old 2014 style. It is barebones and grindy and you do not just get overpowered armor right away. You mine and you smelt your ores and you deal with danger when you go to sell.
Progress is not just one path. You can grind the normal mining route to unlock better mines and perks. You can also go hard on a custom fishing system for good money per hour and rewards. If you like fighting there is a mob arena with waves and boss fights where groups can earn money and shards. There is also a cookie farming bakery system where you farm wheat and cocoa then bake cookies with custom mechanics and do long term quests and leaderboards.
After you rank up you can prestige and keep progressing. The rank line goes A to H then Parole. Parole lets you leave prison and build farms.
The server has guards and contraband rules plus illegal crops that are high risk and high reward. It also has no instasell so selling feels old school. You can rent cells and plots use an auction house place bounties do parkour try solitary confinement and run player shops.
It says premium stuff is not pay to win because everything you can buy can also be earned by playing. The focus is on a balanced economy and long term grind instead of instant kits.

Freedom SMP is a survival server where building and creativity is the main thing. It is running on 1.21.11 and it just launched on 3-9-26.
It uses a town claiming system so you can start your own town or just protect your own spot. There is a server shop and an auction house so you can sell items fast or let other players bid on them.
Moving around is easier with teleport features like tpa rtp homes and warps. There is also a 3D map you can use to see builds and towns.
You get rewards for playtime and there are spawner features like picking up spawners plus block spawners that generate blocks for collecting. The admin team is small but active and they help fix issues and help players.

Minemist is a small Java 1.21.11 SMP that opened on November 25th 2025. It is hosted in Sydney Australia so it fits Oceania players really well.
The whole server feels like a town and nation simulator with war and geopolitics. There is a server story too and an entity called Misty is part of the world and she watches what players do.
You can make towns and nations and the world is bordered. There are jobs a culture system and progression ranks plus tweaks to enchantments and a slower endgame. MCMMO is also here and you get chest locks an auction house player warps and player vaults.
Enchantments are political because you must pick a culture called Power Freedom or Balance. Each one controls what enchantments you can get so you cannot just do everything alone. If you want it all you have to negotiate manipulate and explore.
Progression is revamped so villagers do not give you easy enchanted books. Enchantments come from crafting the enchanting table or loot and rare materials matter. When somebody has stacked gear it means they actually earned it.
War is used more for politics than for pure PvP. Only nations can go to war with towns and winners can occupy a town or plunder money. You can raid items and break crops but destructive griefing is not allowed and staff can rollback damage. The live map shows where players are in the overworld so everyone can see what is going on.
