ShovelCraft is a semi vanilla SMP where people care more about building and stories than rushing the end of the game. The server is made for long term play and the world is not planned to reset so everything you build and all the history actually matters.
The map is split into two zones. In the Green Zone around spawn you play with no pvp and no stealing or griefing. It is all about towns trading and shared lore. In the Red Zone farther out pvp is on and stealing is allowed so you can have battles and tension but still no griefing. This keeps bases and builds safe while still letting people fight for fun and story.
The End is turned off so there are no elytras or shulker farms. Everyone travels by land sea and Nether which makes roads and ships and portals really important. There is a diamond based economy and you can level up your team with diamonds to unlock perks like more warps shared storage and extra member slots.
There are seasonal competitions that give lore themed rewards like armor trims and shulker boxes. The gameplay is mostly vanilla with some simple quality of life commands like home tpa duel and shops. There are no pay to win ranks or donor perks and voice chat is optional if you want to talk while you play. The server runs on version 1.21.10 and supports both Java and Bedrock players.

Kronos SMP is a full Earth server where the map is scaled 1 to 500 so the continents are actually huge and the oceans actually matter. Everyone starts in a fresh empty world so there are no old empires or stacked nations or destroyed land.
You pick a real location on the Earth map and claim it. Then you defend it or try to take land from other players. Factions can grow into nations and the whole server is about geopolitics and wars and alliances instead of just grinding.
The economy is run by players so power comes from land and people you control not from kits or pay to win stuff. Wars are real and borders actually change when people win or lose. Nothing is just cosmetic.
The server is for Java Edition version 1.20.1 and is hosted on strong hardware so it can handle big player counts. Admins do not play favorites and there is no pay to win.
This server is mainly for people who like planning and maps and history and drama that actually affects the world. It is also for players who enjoy leading and scheming and staying up late for wars. If you just want a super chill SMP this one is probably not for you.

Nation States is a semi vanilla server that uses the towny claiming system. The whole idea is to build nations and not just random bases. Players are pushed to make politics trade and war with each other.
The server is all about roleplay and lore and cool conflicts between players. The owner wants people to actually act like they are in a nation and not just grind alone. If you ignore that spirit and just ruin the experience you will probably get removed.
The theme is early antiquity so it feels like playing in an ancient world. There is a custom map that is about 5k by 5k so it is not too huge but still has room for different nations.
From what I can see the community is meant to be competitive but still focused on fun and interaction. It is for people who like nation building and diplomacy and serious roleplay more than just pure pvp or pure survival.

Lodestone is a Minecraft geopolitics and worldbuilding server that is going into a closed beta. It tries to give a fresh twist on the usual town and war style.
The main thing I noticed is the spice trade system. You harvest different spices and sell them at spawn and the land you control changes how good your spices are. This makes people want to fight over the best land so the economy and wars actually feel connected.
The server also uses Towny so players can make towns and nations and go to war with each other. There are chest shops so anyone can set up a shop with a chest and a sign and trade items with other players.
There is also Auraskills so you can level up a bunch of skills and unlock different abilities as you play. It fits the worldbuilding and war style because you keep growing your character over time.
