I found sVanilla SMP and it feels like a simple survival server with a semi anarchy vibe. It is mostly vanilla and it keeps things straightforward.
The main rule is no hacking. That makes fights and progress feel more fair even when people play rough.
The player base is pretty small and it still stays fairly active so it feels like you can actually recognize people and find your place.
