I found a very early alpha server that is going for late medieval faction warfare with RPG style progression and a player run economy.
You can pick how you want to play. You can go all in on PvP wars. You can grind like an MMO. Or you can stay more independent and be a trader gatherer craftsman or contractor who supplies factions and builds for other players.
There is custom content like crops furniture and custom weapons and armor with unique effects. The economy uses mixed currency and the main market hub is called Osthaven where you spawn and trade.
Out in the wilderness players can set up temporary camps that are protected. Mobs are stronger than vanilla and there are boss mobs that are meant for party play. Trading is also safer because it uses a secure MMO style trade window system.
Since it is early alpha they want testers who will try mechanics find bugs check balance and give honest feedback to help shape the server.

I found a vanilla plus Minecraft server that keeps the normal feel but adds some extra stuff. The mods are mostly furniture and new crafting recipes like new types of armor. There are also new items that do not go too far from vanilla.
It is not a full modpack. You get a zip that has the needed mods so you can drop them into your mods folder for whatever launcher you use.
The rules are simple. No cheating or hacked clients. No exploits or dupes. No x ray or kill aura or fly. Anything that gives an unfair advantage is not allowed.
