This server is called Halcyon and it is a medieval style Lands PvP world. It feels like old school survival where you actually have to struggle a bit. Night cannot just be skipped and your health only comes back slowly and in special ways so every fight really matters.
The world is custom and handmade and it looks huge with big different biomes. There is no teleporting so travel is a big deal. People build roads waystations and even hidden railways underground. This server is a super classic style prison and it really feels like old 2014 prison. It is not OP at all and you actually have to grind for your stuff.
You start with basic tools and leather armor and you need to mine and smelt your ores. To sell them you have to walk through PVP zones to reach the commissary so it feels risky and intense. Swords and potions are illegal and guards can fight you if they see you with that contraband.
There are ranks that go from A up to Parolee and then Citizen. After reaching the top rank you can prestige for special rewards. You can also rent a prison cell or a prison plot to store items build a small base grow illegal plants or make your own shop and sell to other players.
The server has guards senior guards and wardens who enforce rules protect new players and can even send you to solitary confinement if you act bad. There are quests for extra cash or special items and you can earn money in different ways like mining custom fishing and growing illegal crops.
There is an auction house where players sell items a bounty system where you can put money on enemies and parkour challenges spread around the prison. The whole server feels like a tough grindy prison with a strong community and lots of PVP tension.

I found this server called Anarchy Network and it is a semi anarchy Minecraft world that feels really close to vanilla. It started on October 11th 2024 and it is always online.
You can join with a lot of Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10 and they say it works best on 1.21.10. The world border is huge at 2 million blocks so you can run super far away and still keep going.
The server has no map resets and no teleporting at all except for a simple spawn command so people very far away are not stuck alone forever. There is no pay to win stuff and griefing and PvP are totally allowed so you have to be careful who you trust.
It is mostly vanilla but they removed phantoms which is nice and they let people use the nether roof. Only half the people on the server need to sleep to skip the night so you are not stuck in the dark all the time.
Even though it is semi anarchy it still has a few rules. You cannot use exploits or lag machines or duping. You also cannot spam chat or harass people or use racial slurs. So it is chaotic but not totally toxic.
Overall it feels like a raw survival server where players control almost everything and staff only stops the really broken stuff.

Alkaline Prisons is a bedrock prison server that is staying online for the long run. The owner basically made it a full time job and it really shows.
The server is almost fully custom coded. There are over 100 custom enchants you can put on your tools armor and swords plus the normal vanilla enchants. There are more than 70 kits that you unlock from prestige mining crates and quests so you always have something to grind for.
You get custom plots where you can make chest shops like old school servers. There are big private mines around 80 by 80 blocks so you can mine in peace. Nothing is pay to win or pay to play. It is made to feel fair for everyone.
The owner studied old pocket edition videos from like 2012 to 2016 to get that lifeboat style vibe back. Now a lot of bedrock servers feel like cash grabs but this one is more about people who actually care.

This server feels like going back in time to when Minecraft was way more simple. It runs on version 1.13 and the owner is trying to copy the old console edition vibe.

This server is called PlanetNostalgia and it runs Minecraft Alpha 1.1.2_01. It is trying really hard to feel like Minecraft back in 2010 with the bright green grass and the old terrain and the simple kind of gameplay.
