Crystal SMP is a small survival server that started last week and it is looking for more players who are 17 plus and want a social place to play.
It runs on Neo Forge 1.21.1 and it keeps the mod list pretty light. It has custom world generation plus a few quality of life tweaks and some cosmetic stuff to make building look cooler. There is also sophisticated storage and a mod that adds more block variants for decorating.
People are still making nations and adding to spawn and writing lore. The server uses a loot system where loot is client side instead of shared vault style.
The rules try to keep an anarchy vibe but still stop the worst stuff. You cannot destroy progression blocks like trial vaults or end portals. You cannot raid offline players. If you want combat or a raid you have to tell the person first. Players also ask that you do not break the special loot chests.
There are about 10 plus active players daily and the moderation is fast. The community has lots of European and Asian players with North and South America growing too.

I found a server called Project Tempus and it is built to feel like a real civilization under pressure. The server is only online for four hours each day and it runs in set windows. That means everyone shows up at the same time and stuff like trading politics and fights happen in person.
Your base stays safe when the server is offline so you do not get wiped while you are asleep or at school.
The big twist is the time economy. You earn time just by staying alive in game and you can spend that time to craft stronger gear. You can also trade time to other players like paying someone with minutes.
There is also a class system so people have to work together. Farmers are the real crop makers because food grows way slower for everyone else. Smiths lower the time cost for crafting and repairs. Mercenaries get combat help because mobs are stronger. Miners get better yields for gathering resources.
