Survival is harder than normal because resources are scarce and also tied to different regions. Progress is slow and it follows a more historical path. You start with knapped stone tools then work up through copper then bronze then iron. Gold and diamonds are rare and feel like a big status thing.
Crafting is more involved too. Leather and metals need processing. You need cords and bone needles for basic stuff. Pottery is important for progress and metal is hard to get without trading.
This feels like a social experiment where your reputation matters. Land claims are limited and early on it can be better to live out of mobile camps and move around. People will have to choose if they want to build a civilization together or try to control everyone else.

There is a timber style plugin so cutting trees is way faster and cleaner. You can sit on stairs slabs and other blocks. There is also a minecart plugin so you can travel on rails without using powered rails.
