Elysium is a small Java multi world server that just reopened with a fresh start in early November. It is looking for more players and it is mainly aimed at 18 plus. A few older community members are still around from the earlier server.
There are three main worlds. Survival is on 1.21.10 with a 10k by 10k border and mcMMO skills. It also has an online map you can open with the link from the map command. Teleport commands are mostly off so it feels more vanilla and people use Nether roof travel. There is a shopping district at spawn where players can set up chest shops and use diamonds.
Plots gives you 85 by 85 build plots so you can make your own space and not worry about other people. You start with one plot and can earn more by moving up build ranks.
Creative is a superflat freebuild world for bigger community builds. Team builds are encouraged but changing builds without permission is not allowed. There is also a Hub world for getting around plus a second Creative world that is a perk for higher build ranks.

You can join on Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.11 and they say 1.21.10 is the best to avoid problems. The world border is huge at 2 million blocks so there is a lot of space to run build hide and fight.
There are no map resets and there is no teleporting and no pay to win stuff. Griefing is allowed and PVP is fully allowed so you always have to watch your back. The only non vanilla thing you can really do is use spawn so people that travel super far do not feel totally alone. Nether roof is allowed and phantoms are removed and only half the players online have to sleep to skip the night.
The rules are mostly about keeping the server stable and not toxic. Exploits dupes lag machines and spam are not allowed. Also harassment and racial slurs in chat are not allowed. Everything else is pretty much up to the players.

This is a hardcore plus survival server that feels almost like classic vanilla but with a twist. Every time you die you lose one heart and you can go all the way down to three hearts. To get your hearts back you have to craft a heart crystal using an echo shard and a diamond block. This can even push you over the normal ten hearts and up to twenty hearts but the extra hearts are temporary and get removed when you take damage.
The world has real danger because there are no teleport commands and all block damage is enabled like fire spread and creeper explosions. Stealing and griefing are not allowed though so it is not an anarchy server. You still have to respect other players builds and items.
The server started as a close knit vanilla SMP community that has been around for years and players sometimes compare it to hermitcraft. There are regular events every weekend and mayor elections every month so the world feels alive. There is also an optional cozy modded server and another hardcore server you can try if you want more.

Campfire SMP is a small 18 plus server that wants to last for years instead of doing constant resets. It is semi vanilla survival with a whitelist so it feels more like a tight community than a random public server.
The world started in September 2025 and people already built a shopping district with a diamond based economy. There are nether highways for fast travel plus a battle arena and a mini games area. The players hang out in voice chat a lot and work on projects together or just talk and play other games.
Most players are in their 20s and some are older so the vibe is more mature but still very relaxed. The server has a few plugins and data packs for quality of life and admin stuff but it keeps the survival feel. There is no tpa and no home so you actually explore and build up routes. There is a big world border with lots of space and it will grow with big updates.

This server is called Experimental Hardcore and it is a hardcore anarchy world with weird events that keep changing how you play. The world gets random constraints and different experiments over time so the game does not stay the same.
At the start the world border was super small and every day it grows bigger. When someone went to the End a destruction timer started and after that nobody could go to the End anymore. More events like that keep happening and they can limit or unlock new stuff you can do.
The server is hardcore so if you die you are done and death is forever. But there is a way to be revived if other players help you. When you die you become a ghost stuck near your own player head. You float there in a special spectator mode and cannot go through the ground. If someone finds a special revival location and has your head and enough resources they can bring you back to life.
As the border gets bigger you can find old builds and strange structures from past players. Inside there can be loot danger and small bits of story. The way you mess with these places or items can change things for you or the whole world.
The server is anarchy but with rules against hacking and exploits. Griefing killing and stealing are allowed. Crystal pvp and anchor pvp are turned off. Java Minecraft version 1 is used.

The world is super harsh. You can raid bases set traps and start wars. You can team up with other players then stab them in the back later if you want. Nobody really protects you so you have to be smart and kind of evil to survive.
