The economy is risky on purpose. If someone kills you in the wild they steal ten percent of your balance straight into their account. If you die to mobs or the environment you still pay a two percent bank fee and you also lose xp. So even normal survival mistakes hurt.
There is a safe spawn region where nobody can steal your money. That makes spawn feel like a trade hub and meeting place instead of a constant trap.
