Railcraft is a Minecraft server that feels like a real social experiment.
You do not just join and wander around. To get in you pick an ideology like socialism communism capitalism neoliberalism centrism or anarchism. Then you live that choice in game with your group.
There are no claim plugins and no magic shop system and no admins fixing what happens. Groups have to organize or fail. They mine build trade and fight under real limits.
Travel is mostly by rail so players actually build rail lines. There are no elytras no ender chests and no automatic farms. There is proximity voice chat so talking with people near you really matters.
The server does not open right away. It starts only when there are enough players accepted in every ideology so things feel balanced at the beginning.
There is no central state and no promise that things will be fair. Some groups might grow strong and some might split or collapse.
It is whitelist only and you must apply. The main language is Spanish but basic English is ok.

Vanillacraft is a semi vanilla survival server that tries to feel like normal Minecraft with friends. It does not have all the crazy plugins that change the game. There are no GUI shops and no economy plugin and no pay to win ranks.
The world is all about player choice. There is no land protection so you can build wherever you want. Griefing is not really a problem because there is Coreprotect and an active staff team watching over things. The community is very friendly and new players usually get help fast.

This server is called LegacyMC and it is a full on anarchy survival world. It is completely vanilla and there are no rules at all. There are no land claims or protection and there are no game changing plugins. What you build what you break and what you steal is totally up to you.
The owner started it in June 2025 and wants it to be a long term world that does not reset. There is no teleportation and admins do not interfere with gameplay. If something happens it is because players did it not staff.
The server is hosted on dedicated hardware in Australia so it is made for players in Australia and New Zealand who want low ping. There is no pay to win and no ranks and no monetisation at all. Donations are not needed and they say they will never ask for them.

This is a straight up vanilla style survival server where everything feels like the normal game. There are no land claims and no teleport commands so you actually have to travel and explore on your own.
The world has been running since April 1st 2019 and the overworld has never been wiped. That means there is a ton of history and old bases and stuff to find. It really feels like a forever world that people keep building on.
PvP and griefing are allowed so nothing is totally safe. You have to hide your base or defend it yourself. There are no factions or big economy systems and no special currency. It is just survival Minecraft the way the game was meant to be played.

This server is called Mappercraft and it is a survival world with light roleplay where people make their own nations.
You play on earth style maps and right now they are using a southeast Asia map. A few nations are already trying to become powerful. You can join them or try to beat them and fight for the top.
There is no land claim plugin. Instead you pick a place and make a settlement and staff will help if someone griefs it in a bad way.
You can turn your protected settlements into a full nation. Nations can make alliances or go to war and try to destroy each other and take land. It is very focused on diplomacy and also on big wars.
The server tries to feel mostly vanilla. Staff run the systems and they do not force you to use mods. There are only some quality of life plugins like fast tree chopping better minecarts no creeper griefing no phantoms and an images to maps plugin.

Sparked is a chill long term vanilla style SMP that really feels like joining a friends server. When you log in it looks simple and clean with no huge menus and no glowing text everywhere. It is meant to feel barebones and trust based so you just play Minecraft and not a bunch of extra systems.

Prisma is a survival multiplayer server where almost anything goes. It is made for players who like PvP and do not mind raiding and griefing. There is no land claiming so you have to hide your base and protect your loot by yourself.
The server has a player run economy. You can sell items at spawn using an npc and the prices change as the economy grows. There are also economy events like crops growing faster or some items going up in price. There are weekly item events on the auction house too.
You can use teleport commands like sethome and tpa. You can also teleport to spawn. The world is normal vanilla generation and everyone can mine mob spawners with a silk touch pickaxe. Elytra movement is a big part of combat because you can glide and use wind charge tricks while fighting.

This is a semi anarchy raiding survival server that has been running since 2011. It feels really old school and there is almost no staff stuff getting in the way.
You can raid and grief other players and there are no land claims or base protection. Lapis is used like money here. You can set a home and use tpa so you can move around the map and visit people if they accept.
The world is normal vanilla generation and the difficulty is hard. The End gets reset on the first day of every month so it is a bad idea to build a base there. Players can collect spawners too.
There are some rules. You cannot use hacks macros or mods that are not on the permitted list. You also cannot abuse duplication bugs except for TNT rails carpet string and tripwire hooks. You have to listen to admins and mods when they tell you to do something.
Most people who play are from North America but anyone can join. Some players are friendly and helpful and some are pretty toxic because there is not much moderation. If someone is annoying you can use the ignore command on them.
Overall it is a rough server where you have to hide your stuff raid other people and just survive in a hard world with very little protection.
