The Garden SMP is a Java 1.21.11 survival server that leans hard into worldbuilding roleplay and adventure. It feels like a place where people actually try to make stories and not just speedrun gear.
The big thing is the 3 life system tied to PvP. If you lose your lives you become a ghost which makes fights feel serious. There is also a revival system using craftable books so people can come back if the server decides it.
Travel and storage are more grounded since there is no Elytra and no Ender Chests. It pushes players to build real paths and bases and towns. Chests can be locked and there is lockpicking too so security matters.

This is a modded survival server with a custom pack made by a small group that wants more people around so the world feels less empty.

Potcor is a semi vanilla survival server with roleplay and lore stuff that started on October 25th and it is still going. It is mainly a Java server but it also lets Bedrock players join and it even supports cracked players.
The server is hosted in Asia and most players are from the Philippines. The world has a 25000 by 25000 border so there is a lot of space to explore. It runs on version 1.21.11 and they say anyone can join.
Some items are disabled like end crystals respawn anchors elytra and netherite. There is also a limit of two maces per player. It is still vanilla style though so you have free will to do your own thing.

Golden Nations is a survival server that is all about world building and geopolitics. Nations rise and fall through war trade and diplomacy and players shape everything.
The world is small at first at 5000 by 5000 and grows with the playerbase. There are no elytras so travel and logistics really matter. There are no villagers so you cannot just spam easy trades. Progression is harder with custom recipes and netherite crafting is strict with a one to one system.
You can claim land and build real nations using a lands style system so borders actually mean something. Roads and rails are important here because walking is faster on proper roads and minecarts move way faster on powered rails.
There are custom gameplay systems like a grindstone rework that lets you pull enchantments off gear into books. Farming is redesigned to be more realistic and to need more planning. Fishing has special drops and rare items so coastal areas can be valuable. You can move mob spawners with silk touch to build custom dungeons farms or defenses.
Maces are super rare with only ten on the whole server and each player can only ever craft one. Enchants on them are limited so they feel like real legendary artifacts. The whole server is not easy mode at all and it feels harsh but really rewarding if you like strategy and survival.
