Exodus is a semi vanilla survival server that is all about geopolitics. It is meant more for geopol than for heavy roleplay so you spend a lot of time dealing with nations power and control instead of acting out a character.
The world has a 5000 by 5000 border so resources are limited. This makes trading and deals way more important because you cannot just run forever to find new stuff.
You do not have to be good at pvp to have fun here. You can focus on building cool bases or getting into politics and making alliances and enemies. Different players like different things and the server really knows that.
There are some clear rules to keep things fair. No griefing other people builds. No duping and no x ray. The end and the nether are closed so everyone is stuck in the overworld together. Farms have to be hidden and there are rules made to make pvp better and not super toxic.
The server started pretty recently so there is still room for new people to join and find a spot in the world.

RedLine Smp is a new survival world that is all about pvp and building. It just opened recently so players are still getting geared up and the end is not open yet. The border is 12k so there is a lot of space to explore and to hide your base.
The server uses simple voice so people can talk in game. There are custom recipes that make the mace more expensive and later spears and maybe more items will change too. There are plugins like G Sit player head drops InvisibleKill and some basic server plugins.
The rules are pretty strict about cheating. No hacking no freecam no duping and some exploits are banned. Raiding and stealing are allowed so you always have to watch your chest room. This is a near vanilla survival server that has been running for about eight years. It is a semi vanilla SMP where players like to build collect explore and just hang out together. There are big cooperative builds player competitions and a busy shopping district so it feels like a real community world.
The server is very community driven and international. People talk a lot on their Discord and they actually listen to player opinions when making big changes. Suggestions are welcome and the staff is active so problems and bad behavior get handled fast.

Anarchy Network is a semi anarchy Minecraft server that tries to stay close to vanilla survival. It has very few rules and very few changes so it feels like regular Minecraft but with more chaos. The server is hosted in New York City and it runs all the time.
You can join on Java versions from 1.7.2 up to 1.21.10. They say 1.21.10 is the best version to use so stuff does not break. The world border is huge with two million blocks so there is a lot of space to explore and hide.
