Calvaria is a Minecraft Java SMP that keeps things mostly vanilla and focused on hanging out and building with other players.
It is whitelisted so you have to submit an application to get in. The vibe is meant to be friendly so it is not just a random open server.
The server runs on version 1.21.11. It uses server side mods like Simple Voice Chat and an audio player plus stuff like vein miner and tree harvester. There are also some QoL crafting recipe changes item swapping mob and player heads armor posing and more. You do not have to install anything to play but you will need mods if you want to use certain features.
Calvaria first opened on January 28th 2026 and it is still growing.

It stays true vanilla with no game breaking plugins. The economy is player driven so shops and trading happen naturally.
There are no protected claims so it depends on players choosing peace. The rules are strict and the moderators are active so griefing stealing and harassment are not tolerated. Fair play is enforced the same for everyone.
Java and Bedrock players can play together. Proximity voice chat is optional and it is there if you want more immersion.
There are some free quality of life things like graves that hold your items for a short time after you die. There are also commands like /sit /spin and /hat.
