Near Vanilla is a semi vanilla SMP that has been around for a long time and it feels like a close knit community. People build together collect stuff explore and just hang out. You can play solo or team up and still fit in.
The server runs on hard difficulty and it is currently in Season 7 which started August 24 2024. There are community builds player competitions a busy shopping district and other events. Players talk a lot and big changes happen after player discussion and suggestions.
Staff are active and they keep things calm and fair. The rules are strict with zero tolerance for hacking glitching or duping and also no griefing stealing bullying or discrimination. Chat is moderated and Mojang chat reporting is disabled because of some chat plugins. There is also a DynMap so you can see the world and find places to go.
It is 18 plus only so it is meant for mature and respectful players who want a friendly survival place.

Toms3 is a cracked anarchy server that is trying to be stable and not random like a lot of anarchy servers. It is inspired by 2b2t and Hisparquia and it came back with a brand new world after being gone for years.
It is basically no rules and no admins and no bans or shadowbans. You can cheat and grief and fight and do whatever you want. Just do not expect it to be friendly for new players.
The gameplay is near vanilla and it avoids weird commands so there is no tpa and no home. It also has a separate authentication server. There is anti cheat like 2b2t and it blocks stuff like Flight ElytraFly Timer and other movement advantages even though some bypasses can happen.
There are two dupes people can use right now which are an item frame dupe and a donkey dupe for 1.15.2. Printers also work if you use Litematica. The server says it is meant to run long term and if it ever shuts down there will be a full world download.

I found Toms3 and it is a cracked anarchy server that came back after being closed for years with a brand new world. It is inspired by the big anarchy style servers and it is made to run for a long time.
It is basically no rules and no admins. No bans and no shadowbans so you can play however you want and that includes cheaters and griefers too.
It stays close to vanilla with only small changes to help stability. There is no tpa and no home so you have to travel the hard way.
There is a separate authentication server. Modified clients are allowed but a strict anti cheat blocks movement stuff like flight and elytrafly and timer style advantages.
It is not beginner friendly and people have already made a lot of progress since the world started on February 3rd.

This is a wild Minecraft server called BlueGreen and it runs on Java 1.19.4. The owner likes this version because it is the last one before you need a special item to upgrade to netherite.
The server is kind of like an SMP but with almost no rules. There is no cheating allowed but everything else is basically fine. You can grief bases. You can steal items. You can start fights whenever you want. It feels a lot like anarchy but still has a little bit of structure.
The gameplay is almost vanilla. There is an anticheat so hacked clients get blocked. Player name tags are hidden so sneaking around bases and ambushing people is a big part of the server. It makes the world feel risky because you never really know who is nearby.
The server uses third party login with a site called littleskin and a lot of the community is Chinese because the owner is Chinese too. If you want a sub anarchy world where people can do almost anything and you do not mind a Chinese style community this server is made for that kind of chaos.

This is a Paper server with two worlds that is having a really weird issue. One specific player tries to join and the whole thing just crashes.
The owner has already tried removing a plugin and adding it back but the error is still there. They are digging through logs and trying to figure out what is going wrong.
Right now this feels like a place where people who like fixing servers and finding bugs would hang out. If you like testing stuff and helping track down crashes this server is probably for you.
