Mythvale is a new Java server launching soon and it is made for people who want Towny wars without losing everything in one night.
I noticed it is not about random raiding. Wars have real rules and the fights are done through SiegeWar. Land cannot be permanently taken and there is no offline land loss so builders do not get punished for having a life.
The map uses custom built terrain and the world is meant to be permanent. They plan to expand later and add new continents over time.
It also has a player driven shop economy and balanced progression. Combat stays vanilla and there is a simple beast kit. They are looking for founding towns war leaders staff members and long term players from day one.

RulerCraft is a server set on a full scale Earth world with continents ores and lots of different biomes. It feels like a big place to explore and claim.
It runs Towny so you can start your own town and nation or join one that already exists. Towns can also pick from custom cultures and religions which makes roleplay and nation identity way more interesting.
The economy is dynamic and tries to stay fair with automatic price changes. There are also trading ships around Earth so traveling actually matters.
There is a custom perk system with 54 perks and bonuses to choose from. Stuff like flying in towns custom warps personal holograms automatic chest sorting night vision and fire resistance are included.
Wars are handled with SiegeWar plus a custom war system so fighting is meant to be more casual and less toxic. PvP is optional too so you decide if you want to be killable.
Nations can fight over quarries and treasure ships that pay money each day. If you like PvE there are custom dungeons and bosses with good endgame drops.
