This server is a modern apocalypse survival world where the horror keeps getting worse and the goal is to stay alive long enough to escape.
Everyone starts inside a quarantined zone called Alpigus. The wall stays powered for 7 days so nobody can leave. When the grid fails the wall opens and the Nether unlocks and the End can be reached too.
There is also a big deadline. A nuke drops inside the wall on March 30th at 10AM EST and it wipes everything in there so you have to get out before then.
It is not hardcore. There is a land claim system that stops griefing and PVP but people can still steal. You can also toggle PVP inside claims using claim commands. Teams are a big thing and there are plenty of groups looking for more players.

RevivalSMP is a community worlds server where players can upload their old Minecraft worlds and then explore them on a modern server.
A lot of old saves will not load on 1.21.11 so this server uses an automated conversion pipeline. You upload a zip and after about a minute it outputs a playable 1.21.11 world.
They even got a Better Than Adventure world working which is a Beta 1.7.3 fork with weird block IDs and a custom chunk format. They built their own converter to turn that format into Anvil region files and then Minecraft handles the rest with forceUpgrade.
It is run as a Docker service with an API and a server plugin that picks up the converted world so players can jump in and explore.

The Garden SMP is a Java 1.21.11 survival server with towny role play and a chill vibe. It is made to be easy to join and friendly for new players.
People focus on worldbuilding and stories. You can make towns and nations in the overworld then go on big adventures in other dimensions and keep the lore going with other players.
You start with three lives and you lose one if another player kills you. You can protect builds with Towny. There are chest shops so players can sell stuff without a forced economy.
There are extra systems like Animal Hunger for raising livestock. You can lock chests with trail keys and lock picks exist too. You can also follow a god as a priest cultist or devote worshipper and earn rewards with Devotions then explore god realms with Multiverse.
It is not pay to win and it is meant to be relaxed with optional challenges. Staff and mods are active and the community is small but growing.

Crown SMP is a new Java server for 1.21.8+ and it is looking for players and staff.
It has player choice PvP so you can toggle PvP in the survival world. There is also a separate PvP world where combat is forced so you can go fight when you actually want to.
Survival is claim based so you can protect your builds with land claims. If you do not claim land then it is fair game so you have to be smart about where you build.
There is a massive quest system with over 10,000 quests. You can explore grind and finish objectives at your own pace.
Jobs and progression are a big part of it. You can earn money from things like mining farming and building then level up and prestige for long term progress.
The economy is meant to feel balanced with player chest shops and trading. There are also server shops that are tuned to not break everything.
Extra stuff includes a mob arena custom enchants and redstone powered flight that uses fuel. A lot of rewards are cosmetic focused too.
