Pandamium runs an experimental vanilla SMP that updates to new snapshots and keeps the newest stuff coming fast. It is made for players who want to try brand new features early and talk about what is changing while playing.
The server aims to update every time a new snapshot drops and it uses experiments like game drops minecart improvements and the villager rebalance. They also do Minecraft Live watch parties twice a year and they recently moved to the 26.1 snapshots with new baby models golden dandelion craftable name tags and more.
The community is friendly and there are multiple towns you can join plus a diamond based trading economy. The server averages around 10 players online. The End gets reset every month for fresh end cities and there is an enhanced dragon fight once per month with a dragon egg prize but they try to never reset the overworld and nether.

MCVerse is a no reset survival place made for long builds and long breaks. It is built so you can leave for a while and not come back to your base wrecked. The vibe is slow and chill and there is no rush.
The main survival world is meant for classic grinding and mostly vanilla play. There are no custom items enchants or skills. You can grind everything yourself or use player markets if you want. You can also rank up for free just by playing and all perks are free.
Chat is kept pretty clean with low tolerance for swearing. Public chat is for Minecraft and gaming talk.
There is a permanent SMP on 1.21.10 with stuff like claims a map markets clans and fishing contests. There is also a 1.21.10 hardcore vanilla option that is no grief. This server is a Hardcore Plus survival world that stays really close to vanilla. There are no teleport commands and block damage is fully on so fire spreads and creepers can wreck stuff. Stealing and griefing are still not allowed so it is not anarchy.
The big twist is the health system. Every time you die you lose one heart until you hit a minimum of 3 hearts. You can craft a Heart Crystal using an echo shard and a diamond block to get one heart back. You can even go past 10 hearts up to 20 hearts with temporary hearts that get eaten first when you take damage.
It has quality of life plugins like 50 percent sleep player and mob heads armor stand tools and stat leaderboards. There is optional proximity voice chat and cross chat between in game and Discord.
BareBonesMP has been around since 2019 and it is aiming for that classic server feel with a close community. Events happen every weekend and there are mayor elections every month. This is a pure vanilla survival anarchy world with an ocean spawn so you start by swimming or boating until you finally find land. It feels like an adventure right away.
The world is really old and first generated in 2011 so you can run into weird ancient terrain and lots of ruins. Newer terrain exists too but you might have to travel far to see it.
The server runs the latest Minecraft snapshot so new stuff shows up fast. Gameplay is not changed by plugins or mods and extra features are done through a custom chat bot with commands like home and tpa and spawn. There are also some goofy commands people mess with.
There is a self regenerating spleef arena in the End and player and mob heads can sometimes drop from fights. The community is small and mostly long time friends and they want more people who like classic vanilla.
There are only two rules which are be respectful and do not try to crash the server. Everything else is pretty much allowed like griefing and hacked clients. Most players are mid twenties or older and a lot are from the US with some other languages too.

This is a Bedrock hard mode survival building server that has been running for over 5 years. The world is forever and has a crazy amount of days played so it feels like a real long term home.
Players mostly explore gather build and talk. It is whitelisted and 18 plus so the vibe is more chill and older. There are about 30 plus people in the discord but usually around 8 to 10 active players in game. Some of them have been here for years so there is history everywhere.
The server has online maps for overworld nether end and even underground slices. You can see coordinates and map markers and the admins will customize markers for your base with names colors and icons.
There are mods but achievements still work. There are NPC teleporters that admins can place even at your base. You can get mob heads and mini blocks. You can craft a lot of stuff like mob spawners spawn eggs unobtainable blocks and some extra quality of life recipes like black dye from coal. Wandering traders never despawn and have infinite trades. Ghasts are happy and super fast but still slower than elytra.
New players can grab free gear to get started if they want it. It feels like a long term survival world where you can slowly build cool stuff with a small but loyal group.
