Nucleotica is a Minecraft server that runs the old school 1.7.10 version of the HBM nuclear tech mod. It is online all day with 32 gigabytes of ram so it feels pretty smooth.
The server uses a custom modpack based on Space Tech Integrated and also has a special economy mod. There is a fully simulated shop with server trades so you can build up money and get geared through an in game market.
The owners are planning an official launch soon and want people to join early so new players do not fall super far behind. They will add different starter kits that change based on how far the server has progressed so late joiners still have a chance.
HBM is all about nuclear science and huge weapons and it is pretty stable for how old it is. The staff say they try to help new players learn the mod and there is more info and guides if you want to really get into it.
You can play peaceful and become a mostly protected pacifist group so you do not get wiped in giant wars. There are still weak spots so pvp players can have fun too. If you like war there are ways to do big destructive fights and even what they jokingly call warcrimes but there are rules and consequences if you go too far. The server rules sound like basic common sense stuff and they do not want to be super strict.
