Pixel Springs is a cozy modded SMP on 1.20.1 that is meant to be long term and it never resets. It is made for builders collectors and anyone who likes chill survival with friends.
The mod list is packed for building and decorating so you can really make your place look nice. There are also big farming mods so you can grow tons of crops and cook a huge amount of meals.
If you like goals there is a custom FTB Quests setup that helps you learn mods and supports collecting. You can earn in game currency from quests and daily rewards then open a shop and build in the community shopping district.
There is magic too with options like Botania Hexerei Mystical Agriculture and Ars Noveau. If you love animals there are lots of cute creatures to find and keep.

I found a newer server that is built around a custom tech and magic modpack and it is meant to last a long time. The main vibe is role play and RPG style survival with a big community focus.
Players get a lot of choice in how they play because of the origins setup. You pick things like a race and class and magic alignment and a background plus a second class. There are tons of options so it is easy to make a unique build and grow stronger over time with the skill system.
The tech side is based around create so people can build factories and trains and make big projects. There are also options for players who do not want to be magic users so you can still fit into the world.

Ashenreach is in beta right now and it is a one week testing phase before the real launch. You can join early to get a headstart on your claim with your team and help spot bugs and balance stuff.
This is a long term survival world where what happens actually matters. The map is persistent so builds can get conquered or lost and the history sticks around. It is not a minigame thing and it is not meant to wipe all the time.
The world uses custom made terrain with handcrafted regions and structures. Travel routes are intentional so exploring feels more like a real place and less like random chaos.
Healing is slower like UHC style. You have to plan for fights and trips and use downtime instead of just instantly healing forever.
There are custom relics getting added across the map with a tracking system to hunt them down. Some can be hidden underground or locked in bases or even carried by other players.
Enchanting is not easy and max gear is not expected. Fights are supposed to feel conclusive so skill and preparation matter more than just stacked items.

WindGrove is a Java 1.21.x survival server with a planetoids world so the biomes float as islands in the sky. It feels wide and quiet and you can look out into the void and spot bridges and builds from other players.
The server is meant for builders and explorers and it is not trying to be a sweaty min max place. Movement and distance matter and progression is supposed to feel intentional.
It uses a custom resource economy where diamonds act like a progression currency. Villager trading stays important and fishing plus other paths can help you unlock rare items. A lot of decorative blocks are easier to get through controlled trades so you are not trapped by biome luck but the real progression items still take work.
PvP is only by consent and griefing is not allowed. Lag machines and exploits are not allowed either. The server is whitelisted and kept small on purpose so it stays curated and long term.
