Paragon SMP is an anarchy style world but it is not full chaos. You can steal from people and do some light griefing but the idea is not to blow everything up and ruin the whole map. It feels more like sneaky survival than pure destruction.
The server uses Simple Voice Chat and you actually need it if you want to join. That means most people talk instead of just typing. It makes teaming up or betraying people way more intense.
There are no extra gameplay mods besides performance stuff so it still feels like normal Minecraft. Keep inventory is off so dying actually matters and makes every fight risky.
The world is 10,000 by 10,000 so it is not infinite and players will eventually run into each other. With around 50 player slots it can get busy but still feel like a small community. The server is also LGBTQ friendly so everyone can feel safe playing.
To join you have to go through a whitelist application and then wait a bit to get accepted. It gives off the vibe of a semi anarchy server where trust is rare but the community still has some respect for each other.

This is a modded civilization server called Adornment. The whole idea is that players group up and make their own civilizations. You can play with your friends or join a civilization that is already made.
PvP is allowed and griefing is allowed but only at a moderate level. You can steal stuff from other people and you can go to war with other groups. You can also decide to just build and play more peaceful if you want.
You have to get whitelisted before you can join and you need to download the modpack to play. The server feels like a place where players create their own stories with wars and alliances and random politics.
