I found a server called Split SMP that runs big civilization events. They do a new twist every month or two and it pulls in a lot of players.
This season is Season 4 and it is Maze Runner inspired. Everyone gets split into four teams and the whole event runs for 7 days.
A bunch of people already applied and it is starting soon. You can also add the owner if you need to reach them.

This is a Minecraft server that runs big civilization style events. Each event has a different theme every month. The server is online 24 7 so people from different time zones can still play.
The events are planned to happen near the end of each month and last about a week. They want to grow from around 50 players up to really big events with hundreds of players if enough people join. The server is whitelisted so you have to apply before you can get in.
They do not like to use a ton of random mods or steal other peoples content. Instead they focus on making their own stuff like their own mods and their own maps. It feels more original that way.
Anyone can join because it is all ages. You do not need a microphone to play. You are allowed to stream your own gameplay but the events will not be officially streamed.
