CataclysmCraft 4 feels like a big modded adventure server with a ton of stuff to do. It runs on Minecraft 1.20.1 and uses a custom modpack so it is not just a basic survival world.

This is a modded geopolitical server where players make nations start wars and do diplomacy instead of just rushing each other.
Fights are mainly about npc soldiers using the Villager Recruits mod so it is more like strategy and army control and less about sweaty vanilla pvp. You cannot just teleport over defenses or crystal pvp or fly over walls so you actually have to plan your attacks and defenses.
The current map is based on the lands around the North Sea like Norway France and the British Isles with a middle ages vibe but you do not have to stick to the theme if you do not want to. The world gets reset when activity dies and the themes swap between historical and sci fi which also changes the modpack.
Right now the modpack has stuff like Create Farmer style mods npc recruits ships armor weapons siege machines and more so the world feels alive and detailed. You can run a big nation command armies roleplay as a famous ruler or just own a small shop inside someone else’s nation.

Chilltown SMP is a survival server that feels really relaxed but still has a challenge. It is made for people who like exploring and building cool bases without getting punished too hard when they mess up.
The world has seasons that change the terrain every 90 days so it feels more alive and fresh. There are custom structures and custom biomes that make the world look really awesome and you can find more loot while you explore.

Oathwood SMP is a survival server where everything revolves around towns and community. It has Towny so players can build towns claim land and actually protect what they make.
There is an economy and it feels like players run most of it. People set up their own shops using Shopkeepers and trade with each other instead of just using some giant admin shop.

This server is a Bedrock realm that just started a new season and it is built on a 1 to 4000 earth map. The world uses normal Minecraft structures and biomes so it feels like regular survival just on a huge map.
You can claim land and stay peaceful and just build cool stuff. Or you can start wars and fight other players. You can also do both at the same time so the server works for builders and for people who like pvp.

Louieland SMP Season 5 is a modded season based server that mixes factions and building in one world. It feels like a mix of war server and build server at the same time.

This server is called LavaNetwork and it is a new survival SMP that is still in beta. It feels mostly vanilla so it is really simple to understand and easy to get into.

Prosperia is a no reset SMP where the main world is meant to last a long time. The whole idea is that you can stay on the same map for months and keep building without losing your progress.
The world has custom terrain and custom structures but it still feels like normal survival. It just has more depth without getting super complicated. You earn your progression and there is a player driven economy with jobs and MCMMO and land claiming and some quality of life stuff that makes everything smoother.
The main world never resets so your bases and claims and progress are supposed to stick around. Only the resource world resets so you can still gather new stuff without your builds getting deleted.

Kronos SMP is a huge Earth server where the whole map is scaled to 1 to 500. Everything starts totally fresh with no old empires and no stacked nations. Everyone joins into an empty world and has to pick a real place then try to claim it and keep it.
The server is all about nations and geopolitics instead of just grinding. You start as a small group and try to grow into a full country. People form alliances or backstab each other and wars actually change who owns land. Borders are real and when someone wins they really take the territory.
The economy is run by players so power comes from the land you control and the people who live there instead of paid kits. There is no pay to win and the admins do not play favorites.
This is more for players who like planning and strategy and world drama. It is for people who like leading and scheming and waking up at 3am to fight in a war. If you just want a calm chill SMP this server probably is not for you.
