Aegea is a Spigot survival server that feels close to vanilla but adds some extra stuff to keep it fun. It has a simple economy plus ranks and helpful commands so you can get going fast.
You can set homes and use teleport requests with other players. If you die you can go back to where it happened. You can also randomly teleport out into the wild to start fresh. Players can sell items for money and make trade signs so shops can run on player prices.
The server has chest and door locks and staff can roll back grief with CoreProtect. The rules are clear like no griefing no stealing and no PvP without consent. It also keeps things chill with no spam no hacks no lag machines and no toxic or NSFW stuff.
Ranks are earned by playtime so anyone can move up over time. There is also a monthly election for the top player rank. Players can join teams that share a name a home and warps. There is a new map right now too.

I found a normal SMP that is starting up soon and it is meant to feel like regular Minecraft survival.
There is no economy stuff and it is not modded. They only use a few plugins and it sounds like they are kept light so the gameplay stays mostly the same.
It has crossplay and the server is up 24 7. They also say there will be no resets so you can build long term. Launch is on Feb 20.

I found Ratchy SMP and it is a survival server with lifesteal and land claim.

Davidscloud is a survival community server that has been around since 1.7.10 and it is built for long term play. It is PvE focused and it tries to keep things fair with no pay to win.
The server uses grief prevention claims so your builds can stay safe. You start with 2000 claim blocks and you earn 120 more each hour you play. Pets are protected too and there is an active admin team if you need help.
There are quality of life features that do not mess up balance. There is a banking system that earns interest while you play and a survival spawn market with merchants where you can buy useful stuff like potions fish and wood.
You can explore more than one world. There is a main survival world and an amplified world with the newer caves and cliffs terrain and you can get there through an NPC at survival spawn. An event world and a creative plot world are also planned.

This server is just pure vanilla survival. There are no plugins and it feels like a regular singleplayer world but with other people.
You join the world and start wherever you spawn. If you die without a bed you will respawn in a random spot again so beds are actually important here.
You can invite whoever you want and just play normal Minecraft together. There is no extra stuff added so it is good if you just want the basic game with friends or new people.

This is a semi vanilla survival server that feels pretty close to normal Minecraft but with a few changes to make it more fun. It is also kind of semi anarchy so you get a lot of freedom and the world is not getting reset all the time.
The server runs on hard difficulty so mobs actually hurt and you have to be careful. There is no artificial world border so you can explore really far and build bases wherever you want. The nether roof is allowed so travel can be super fast if you know what you are doing.
Sleeping is handled by a rule where only about a quarter of the players online need to sleep to skip the night. There is also a command to turn phantom spawning on or off if you want to deal with them or not. The respawn radius around spawn is bigger so people do not all appear in the exact same spot.
The rules are pretty simple. No hacks or exploits. No lag machines. No duping except for TNT carpet and rails which are allowed. Besides that players are mostly free to play how they want.
The server works for both Java and Bedrock players and it is recommended to use the latest version so you do not run into weird issues. It started in January 2026 and is meant to last for the long term so your builds should be safe from random resets.

This server is called MinecraftOffline and it feels like a simple but really intense survival world.
You play normal Minecraft but there is a lifesteal system. When you kill other players you gain hearts and when you die you lose hearts. If you lose all your hearts you actually get banned so every fight matters a lot. New players get a one hour grace period so they do not lose hearts right away.
There are a few small plugins that make life easier. You can set a home with a command and teleport back to it. You can also send teleport requests to other players to meet up. There is a vote shop where you spend vote tokens on things like custom name colors and a custom MOTD.
Combat is very serious here. There is a plugin that locks commands during pvp and it punishes people who try to combat log. If you log out while tagged you get replaced by an npc that can be killed and it drops all your stuff. There is also a plugin that stops crazy movement hacks and one that cuts down really bad chat spam.
The server tracks stats like playtime kills and deaths and you get rewards when you hit milestones. Players can also vote to skip the night by using a simple command. Overall it feels like a stable European survival server with lifesteal and some quality of life features but still pretty hardcore when you fight other players.

Paragon SMP is an anarchy style world but it is not full chaos. You can steal from people and do some light griefing but the idea is not to blow everything up and ruin the whole map. It feels more like sneaky survival than pure destruction.
The server uses Simple Voice Chat and you actually need it if you want to join. That means most people talk instead of just typing. It makes teaming up or betraying people way more intense.
There are no extra gameplay mods besides performance stuff so it still feels like normal Minecraft. Keep inventory is off so dying actually matters and makes every fight risky.
The world is 10,000 by 10,000 so it is not infinite and players will eventually run into each other. With around 50 player slots it can get busy but still feel like a small community. The server is also LGBTQ friendly so everyone can feel safe playing.
To join you have to go through a whitelist application and then wait a bit to get accepted. It gives off the vibe of a semi anarchy server where trust is rare but the community still has some respect for each other.
