Atropolis is a newly opened SMP that is trying to feel like vanilla but with some nice quality of life changes. It is a whitelist server and it is aiming for a 16 plus community so it feels more chill and mature.
The server has stuff like phantoms turned off and one person sleep. There is a PvP toggle and some anti grief protection on select mobs. They also have villager leads and they say they can do rollbacks if something really bad happens.
Keep inventory is on in the nether and the end. Spawn has nether access set up and they also allow nether roof travel.
There are add ons like Dynmap and death count plus player and mob head drops. Simple Voice Chat and Elytra Trims are optional if you want them. They say all types of players are welcome.

Foggy Willows is a survival server that sticks to real vanilla. It runs on the normal Minecraft server jar with no plugins and no datapacks so it feels like the actual game.

This server is called TNTNation and it is on Minehut. It works for both Java and Bedrock so more people can join.
From what I can see it is a simple Minecraft survival style server. It feels like the kind of place where you just hop on and play with other players and see what happens.
Since it is on Minehut it is easy to join and try out. The world looks like a normal Minecraft world where players can explore and build and hang out together.

I found this server that is a hard survival world with both Java and Bedrock players together. It runs on the latest Minecraft version and even has backwards compatibility so it feels pretty updated all the time.
The server is no grief so people actually protect their bases. You can claim land with ProtectionStones and use homes and sethome and tpa to get around. There is also random teleport in the overworld so you can find a spot far from spawn and build in peace.
There are custom enchantments and you can put leads on mobs to teleport them which is actually super helpful. Every Sunday they let you fly for free in the overworld so building and exploring is way easier on that day.
They have a bartering based economy with server shops and a public market and some tutorial warps so new players do not get lost. There is also a main PvP arena with keep inventory which makes fighting less stressful.
The staff feels pretty responsive and there is Minecraft and Discord chat linked so you can talk to people even when you are not in game. On Discord they even try to help with homework which is kind of funny but nice if you are still in school.
Overall it feels like a chill but challenging SMP where you can play survival on hard difficulty hang out with people on voice and not worry about griefers.

The server has custom items called Stormy Items. These are tools weapons and armor that can level up and gain abilities. There are also special tridents shields and spears so combat feels a lot more interesting than normal vanilla.
