Tubalith is running a server wide legendary hunt event where everyone races to find one final chest with a legendary weapon.
It is not just normal survival fighting because you have to decode riddles and secret codes and follow hidden clues across the world. You will be exploring structures and weird hidden spots while other players try to beat you to the next clue.
Before the hunt starts the server drops a bunch of overpowered KOTH loot chests around the world and new players can get gear too. The loot rush happens about 30 to 60 minutes before the main event so people can jump in and actually compete.
Only one player gets the legendary so it gets messy fast.

Ultimate Hardcore is a hardcore SMP where death is permanent and that is the whole point. There are no revives and no second chances so when you die you are done.
The world is huge at 300000 by 300000 blocks and PvP is on everywhere. Raiding and griefing are also allowed so it always feels dangerous and you have to think before you move.
It stays close to vanilla but it has plugins that fit the hardcore vibe. I saw stuff like player heads and being able to loot a dead players Ender Chest plus Simple Voice Chat and deep stat tracking.
Because the map does not reset players build up power over time then they fight and team up and betray each other. I found a brand new war focused SMP that is totally unscripted and built for fighting and politics.
The world is fresh and nobody really owns anything yet. There are only a couple factions right now so it feels like early days where anything can happen.
There are no land claims and no safe zones and you do not keep inventory. If you get raided then you get raided and if you die you drop everything so bases actually have to be defended.
They want war clans and leaders and raiders who want to take over instead of just farming in peace.
