I found a hardcore anarchy SMP where dying makes you permanently lose two hearts. If you die five times you get auto banned so every fight matters.
It tries to feel like a popular SMP but with no whitelist stuff at all. You just join and play.
Gameplay stays basically vanilla with only a minimal plugin setup. There are no land claims no teleports and no shop perks you can buy.
The vibe is risky and chaotic since people can find you and take everything. You can also hide and stay safe but it can get lonely.
It is set up to work with voice chat too so talking in game is part of the idea. The server can go inactive since it hibernates after about an hour with no players and it is currently on free hosting.

I found this hardcore SMP called Ten Chances and it is built for betrayal and chaos. It is 10 players with 10 lives each and you have one year to survive and become the last player or last team standing. When Day 365 hits whoever is still alive wins the big glory stuff like god tier loot and custom tags and bragging rights.
PvP is always on so you can get jumped anytime. If you kill someone you steal half a heart from their life count rounded down so fighting and backstabbing actually changes the whole season. Trust feels like a mistake here.
The server gets meaner the more lives you lose. At higher lives mobs are faster and creepers hit harder. In the middle range natural regeneration gets turned off and phantoms show up from day 1 and ores become rare. When you are down to 3 to 1 lives cursed events can trigger like Blood Moons and Boogeyman hunts and random Origins powers and ghost players and wither skulls raining.
Every week there are decrees that force drama like having to build in spawn town or losing a life or limits on armor. There are also community voted events that keep getting more insane like an Ender Dragon fight with slowness and a no sleep week and a Wither Storm invasion.

MCVerse is a mostly vanilla survival server made for long term projects and long breaks. The world is permanent and it is built around not losing your stuff to grief. It is a chill place where you can build at your own pace and not worry about resets.

This server is ultra hardcore so you do not naturally heal and if you die you are out. The whole vibe is one life to live your best life and you try to stay alive as long as possible.
There is a point system that makes everything feel like a score chase. You get points for each minute you stay alive and for the experience you earn. Even mobs and big goals can give huge points like the dragon.
If you mess up and die you can try to earn a revive back to the Overworld by winning the weekly Sunday competition. Sundays also have a special team competition and the prizes can include a revive or an in game advancement shout out.
You start in a spawn ship until you are ready to enter the world. You can also check the top scoring players by holding a bone block.
The server uses an Apocalypse DataPack that makes the world way scarier. Zombies can turn dead players into zombies and some skeletons are enhanced. Bats can bite and spiders can spin webs and there are other dangerous creatures like the Litch Herobrine and Medusa.
Rules are simple. Play fair and friendly and do not use unfair client mods. No hacking and no xray packs and no hacked clients.
