I found a Minecraft 1.6.4 server that is super chill and feels like a simple place to play.
It says there are no rules but everyone is supposed to keep a basic respect thing going. So you can mess around and do your own thing as long as you are not being a jerk.
If you want an older version server with a calm vibe this one is basically just that.
