When war starts it actually matters. Guns replace swords and explosions replace empty threats. Strategy decides who keeps territory and who loses it.
Diplomacy is a real thing here but it can fail fast. Peace is never promised and cities can fall and borders can change. If you want friendly SMP vibes you will probably hate it. If you want real conflict and power plays this is the point.
