EclipsiaSMP is a modded Minecraft server that runs on version 1.20.1. The server is all about magic and dungeons and fighting modded bosses.
The world is built for exploring and upgrading your gear. The modpack is new and feels really focused so you are pushed to go on adventures instead of just sitting in one place.
The community is small but growing and it feels really chill. It is also LGBTQ+ friendly so a lot of different people can feel safe playing here.
This is Season 2 of the server. Some players survived Season 1 and are coming back and new players can join in too when the red moon rises.
From what I can tell people have already had a chaotic and funny time on Season 1 and they seem excited to start this new universe.

This is a Minecraft civilization server called Adornment. It is a survival world where people make their own civilizations or join one that already exists.
Players on the server can farm and build bases and also fight in wars. PvP is allowed so battles between groups are a big part of the server. You can play more peaceful and focus on building or you can get into fights with other players.

Broken Crown is an Earth SMP that feels like a big group of friends trying to build empires all over the world map.
The map is a custom Earth world and it is made so different areas are better for different crops. This makes people want to settle in certain regions and build up their own lands and kingdoms instead of everyone piling in one spot.
The server is meant to feel mostly vanilla so it still plays like normal Minecraft. The fun part is how players spread out and develop their own empires and try to keep their crown from breaking.

I found this Minecraft thing that is not really a server but it is super useful if you always host for your friends.
It is a free open source app for Windows that sets up a local Minecraft server for you. You do not have to mess with weird bat files and confusing stuff. It just does the setup and lets you manage the server with a simple GUI.
The coolest part is it can expose your local server to the internet with tunneling. So your friends can join from their own houses and you do not need to do scary router port forwarding.
The person who made it wants feedback and pull requests so it seems like they really care about making it better.

This is a semi vanilla SMP that was started a couple weeks ago and it already feels like a small town. The server is on hard mode and it has a few plugins but you can turn them off if you want to play more like vanilla.
There are around ten to fifteen people on most of the time and everyone seems pretty close. People build near each other if you ask and they visit each other a lot. Players like to trade help out and share items when you need something so it feels really friendly.
The world gets reset only about once a year so it is meant to last a long time. There is a shopping district starting up and the nether just opened a few days ago so the nether hub is being built now. The end is not open yet so that is still something everyone is waiting for.
They want people who join to actually be good friends and part of the community not just grab stuff and leave. It is a relaxed place but still active and it looks perfect if you want a chill SMP with adults who actually talk and play together.

This is a small survival server that still feels really active. It is not a giant laggy hub and not a random private world with no rules. There are usually enough people on like a couple dozen so chat is alive and players kind of know each other.
The server runs on hard mode and keep inventory is turned off. You actually have to survive and learn how to not die all the time. If you like a basic SMP where you grind and build and talk to people this server fits that. It is not for needy players who want to be carried.
The staff here really hate hacking and griefing. They are proud of how well they catch griefers and how fast they can roll back damage and ban people. If you want a place where your builds are protected by active moderation this is good.
