Friendship

So last week, my good friend Jay’s son tragically died in a car accident. And let me tell you, Jay has been through some stuff – he lost his daughter to Leukemia when she was just a little tyke. This guy has seen more heartache than a creeper in a TNT factory.

Now, my boyfriend Cal was working late, as per usual. But when Jay sent me a cryptic text, I sprang into action like a Minecraft Steve on a mission. I searched high and low for Jay, making sure he was safe and sound. I mean, I’d rather face a horde of zombies than leave a friend in need.

But here’s where things get crazier than a pig riding a chicken – Cal calls me while I’m out on my rescue mission. He wants me to go line dancing with him at a bar. Line dancing. At a bar. I had to decline, of course, because Jay needed me more than I needed to bust a move with Cal. And let me tell you, Cal did not take it well. He blocked me on everything faster than you can say “Redstone contraption.”

So now I’m left wondering – am I the villain in this story? Did I choose friendship over line dancing and lose my boyfriend in the process?
