I found this server called KiaTEC and it is a semi vanilla survival world that is still pretty new. The world is only a few weeks old so it does not feel all used up. It is for people who just want to build explore and hang out without drama.
The server runs Java 1.21.1 and it has real survival with no pay to win. Everyone mostly uses Simple Voice Chat so people actually talk and chill together. There is a main vanilla SMP hub and they are working on a dungeon server but that part is not done yet.
They added some light quality of life stuff like random teleport so you can find a new place to start and tpa so you can travel to your friends. Spawn is protected so nobody can break it and they plan to turn it into a real lobby later.
Rules are simple. PvP only happens if everyone agrees first. No griefing no stealing no cheating and no exploits are allowed. You have to respect other players and their builds and if you break trust you get a permanent ban with no second chances.
They are also looking for moderators who are mature and active and want to help the server grow from the ground up. The whole vibe is chill survival with a friendly no drama community that wants more active people to join.

This server feels like old school Minecraft and I kind of love it. It is just normal survival and it feels really simple and chill. There is no crazy stuff or weird custom systems. It is mostly just you and the world and what you decide to build.
The whole idea is to be classic and pure. You join a survival SMP and start from nothing. You explore you mine you build and you try to stay alive. It feels like how the game used to be when you first started playing. That makes it feel really comfy.

This is a small semi vanilla Minecraft server called Starfare Skyminer. When I joined it felt like a chill place to just play survival and slowly get stronger.
The main idea is to progress through different mines and upgrade your tools. You also get quests to do so it is not just random wandering. It feels more like you always have something to work on.

This server is a chill towny vanilla world where people just want to build and hang out. It uses Towny so you can make towns and protect your land which feels really nice when you put a lot of work into your base.
There is MCMMO so your skills level up while you play and you get fun abilities as you keep grinding. You can also use jobs to earn money in your own way and then spend it in a shop that has balanced prices so nothing feels too broken or pay to win.

The Valley Craft SMP is a new survival multiplayer server with a custom plugin and a really active community.
From what I see the server is focused on having fun together and growing fast. The world is pretty fresh since they opened only a few days ago so you can still start with everyone else and not feel behind.
They use an easy application system that is made to take like one to three minutes. You do not need to be a content creator to join which is nice. If you are a content creator there is a special role that lets you get in right away and start recording or streaming.
