ArcticMC is a survival SMP that mixes town claiming with faction style fighting. It is only a couple days old so it feels like a fresh start and people are still getting set up.
The main thing is you can build a town and make allies or you can take land and start rivalries. PvP matters here but they push an honor system that is explained in their rules so fights are not just random chaos.
It also has McMMO skills so you level up as you play and get special abilities when you level certain skills. The world uses Tectonic generation so the terrain looks more realistic with big mountains and valleys.
They also have custom items and even furniture that is entity based so they plan limits to help with lag. The community is described as calm and friendly and more about vibing while you build and grind.
